We are very happy to have participated in the first Liberty Camp in Slovenia, which was held 14-20 September 2008 at a resort on picturesque glacial Lake Bohinj in northwestern Slovenia. This popular tourist destination is located on the southern border of Triglav National Park, nearly surrounded by the steep cliffs of the Julian and Kamnik Alps. Our venue was the Hostel pod Voglom, impressively located on the south shore of Lake Bohinj. The camp was a great success, due to the outstanding efforts of our local partners, and generous support from sponsors. Tanja Štumberger of the Cato Institute assembled and led a team drawn primarily from the Libertarni Klub and Katalaksija. They organized the student marketing, travel and visa arrangements, guest speakers, program, and relations with the hotel staff. LLI joined the team as camp advisor, providing onsite backup and website support.

Our primary partners and sponsors:

A group of young Slovenian students and professionals dedicated to increasing public awareness of free market principles, the importance of limited government, and individual freedom. A Serbian libertarian group promoting classical liberal ideas via a widely read internet magazine, possibly the best-known libertarian website in the Balkans.
